I am super excited to announce that we won Best of State for cakes and confections again. We’ve won this award since 2014 and every year we strive to do better and serve our clients through new approaches and the latest, delicious techniques! I love baking and love decorating. Carrie's Cakes has a new name: cake by Alessandra

Hello cake friends,
I wanted to let you know that I have decided to rebrand this year. Carrie's Cakes is such a dear and special name to me. Working with Carrie for so many years and then taking ownership these past 2.5 years has been a dream come true. However, the time has come to personalize my business to better fit my long term goals.

The new name of the business will be cake by Alessandra.

It has always been very important to me to learn and master many different cake styles and techniques. This came to play when choosing a new name. I wanted to incorporate what I am all about (cake) while keeping it simple and sophisticated.

I am super excited for this transition and I am also working on a fun signature cake flavor that showcases the state of Utah. It is going to be so great!

Exciting News

After 30 years and over 10,000 cakes, Carrie is ready to pass the torch (or wooden spoon) off to the next generation! Carrie's cakes is please to announce that she has sold the business to her associate of 7 years, Alessandra (Ale)!!! Carrie and Ale have been working on this transition for the past 5 months and are excited to meet with you and tell you about what exciting new changes they have cooked up and what will be staying the same - Fabulous taste and exquisite handcrafted wedding cakes!!!

We will also be at the Bridal showcase at the Mountain America Expo Center on January 4th and 5th. We hope you will stop by our booth to say hello.

My Favorite Moment, That I Never Get to See!

Of course, I love love LOVE spending time in the kitchen creating beautiful cakes. But oftentimes on the wedding day, I am there for about 15 minutes, just to drop off the cake and go! What you might not know, is that I have a favorite moment of the wedding day, that I almost never get to witness- and it's when the couple takes their first bite of cake after cutting it!

We came across this great company that creates custom flash drives! Flash drives come in handy for us all the time, from sharing and storing our portfolios, to sending information on cake classes or instructional videos-we actually use flash drives quite a bit.
